Hi there — Thanks for checking out our blog!
We’re chronicling the changes we make to our new-to-us home in Harrisburg, Pa.
With our first house, I kept a running Project Life scrapbook. It’s so nice to sit down with a tangible binder and flip through photos and journal cards with little additions slipped in the pocket pages.
But as our years in that house went on, I slacked off. And had a baby, for whom I completed a two-volume tome of a Project Life baby book.
As for the house? I took photos of newly painted rooms, projects we completed and new additions to the garden. I kept paint chips, garden tags and receipts. But for the last year (or two?), nothing more made it into the scrapbook. I still intend to finish it, including the final series of listing photos to truly show it in its last — and most clean and tidy! — phase.
After much thought while rolling “Banana Mania” paint on our hall bathroom walls, I decided the reality was that the pace of our home projects (and our life with a two-year-old) was unlikely to permit another hard copy home scrapbook. (I think it’s the ordering photo prints that slows me down, although I have no excuse with digital Project Life, which I hope to try for Kate’s toddler/preschool scrapbook.)
With that, our blog was born. It’s also exciting for me to have an outlet to write where I don’t have to use the words “whereas,” “pursuant to,” or “Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes.”
I’ll be putting together some posts to catch up on work we’ve done (and hired people to do), then we’ll keep updating it as we go.
Thanks for reading!
