We’ve had two recent cleaning shocks around the house in the unlikeliest areas: Kitchen blinds and our inner garage door. These two places, like much of the house, were clearly left uncleaned for a long time (or maybe forever). In the first case, we decided to cut our losses, but in the second, a good scrubbing should tide us over.
This is one of those picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words cases.
I don’t exactly know how you achieve dust ombre, but the previous owners did. The dust is darkest and thickest at the top (which was under a valance when we moved in) and gets progressively cleaner as you go down. Clearly from the two patches Chris cleaned, none of it, even at the bottom, had been dusted/scrubbed thoroughly in some time.
Since we moved in, we had pretty much kept the blinds on all three windows in the kitchen nook pulled up to the top because of the dust/dirt. So when Chris finally put them down to give us some privacy at night, we were forced to confront the situation.
